Support advocacy for improved legislation
Active participation
ARISE has developed advocacy systems for legislative and regulatory frameworks conducive to child labor elimination. We work actively with relevant United Nations agencies and other development partners for research and advocacy on structural improvement in tobacco market regulations.
The countries where ARISE operates face, to varying degrees, social and economic problems, as well as development challenges. As such, much of the legislation and regulation around child labor in these countries has scope for improvement.
The ARISE partners meet with relevant parties and provide technical assistance when new policies and plans are being drafted. We supply our data, research and evaluations so that decisions can be made based on a comprehensive body of knowledge. We participate in all relevant meetings with constituents and other partners working on eliminating child labor in the countries where we operate.
We develop advocacy systems for legislative and regulatory frameworks conducive to child labor elimination. This means that we:
- initiate advocacy campaigns to reach various stakeholders in the countries where we work
- develop advocacy systems for the passage and enforcement of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and plans, and we help support implementation
- actively participate in relevant country networks, attending meetings with constituents and other partners working on child labor and child protection in the countries where we work
- coordinate with relevant United Nations agencies and other development partners for advocacy education for all, as well as for research and advocacy on market structure improvement, including the tobacco market regulations.
