On this World Day Against Child Labor, we’re proud to share that our ARISE program has enrolled over 65,000 children in both formal and informal education to date. Moreover, it has uplifted the lives of more than 25,000 households, increasing their incomes and improving their livelihoods.
Female farmer leads fight on child labor

Leonia Etienne was elected as Chairperson of the Community Child Labor Committee in Chali Village, Tanzania. She has a very rare leadership role in a largely male-dominated community, and has been steering its’ child labor elimination efforts.
ARISE aims to end child labor in communities where JTI sources tobacco leaf. We work with those directly affected and with others who have the power to change things. Our initiatives are developed and delivered in collaboration with tobacco-growing communities, social partners and governments.
